There is a week left before I head off to the Promised This made me reflect into the things that have really amused me over these last few days.
A couple of weeks back I had been to Mc Donalds on Brigade Road along with a really close friend of mine. After all the struggling we eventually found a place to sit beside these kids who were about 10 – 12 years old. While we were sitting there and catching up we over heard the conversation going on between them. These kids were actually talking of relationships and dumping and all that crap. But the worst part of it is this they were so skimpily clad that it shocked me to think whether puberty had also hastened like the sudden desire for young kids to get laid!
About a week later I had been to my cousin’s house. Her daughter who is exceedingly cute was displaying her very innocence in front of everyone (if you get what I mean). This made me think about the day at McDonalds. Those 10 years old kids were once just like my niece. Sadly though 8 years of growing up made them into this!
Do we need to think of it? I mean come on if you guys are of my age I d like to know if your parents would even like the idea of you talking to the opposite sex at the age of 10! Thus the big question came up, Are we to blame their parents? I mean to think of it we guys too have been bitten by the love bug, some successful while others not very. This very bug which has biten us and these kids parents is now biting them at much earlier age. Is there anything they can do about it? I hardly doubt it. Today the world has become so career and money oriented that some of these parents even forget about the existence of their kids. Needless to say these kids are just an early reflection of their parents.
Now why the bloody hell am I writing this, well because I am off to the land where kids talking about dumping and relationships at this age is freaking normal. Contrary to which you are quite the abnormality! Well a week before I leave I just hope that the things I find insanely absurd here don’t actually become a part of me.

Nice thoughtful post on the differences in societal attitudes to relationships. I certainly do hope that both of us continue to be what we are, no matter where we are! :)
